Rourkela: Project Sunayana, launched by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) to restore eyesight of the elderly persons affected by cataract in peripheral villages, has been extended to the underprivileged sections of the industrial township here. The endeavour has been immensely successful, with 120 poor people benefiting from this, according to RSP sources. Under the project, individuals detected with cataract in health camps, were operated at Ispat General Hospital of the plant free of cost. Pre-operative preparations, medicines and post-operative care were also provided by the plant. In its recent eye camp, 12 were identified for cataract surgery. -PTI
