Pathankot: Residents of a locality here, blockaded the national highway on Wednesday to protest the murder of a college girl, who was allegedly stabbed by a rejected suitor, and demanded the closure of the institution. Residents of Sunder Nagar were led by relatives of Monika Rani Minhas, a B.Ed student of RSD college who was stabbed on Tuesday by Jasbir Singh also studying in the same institution. Singh has been arrested. They were angry as no one from the college administration had come pay homage. Police said Jasbir had accosted Monika in the class room and after an altercation stabbed her repeatedly in the chest and abdomen. She was rushed to the hospital but died on the way. --PTI
