ERODE: The Department of Horticulture recently conducted a seminar on cocoa cultivation. A release from the Department says in the seminar that was conducted in Kavindapady, the farmers were told about cocoa cultivation and opportunities available to cocoa farmers. Kavindapady Panchayat president A.R. Pushpalatha, Bhavani Panchayat Union president N. Nallasivam and Lead Bank Manager J. Vanangamudi participated in the programme. Deputy Director of Horticulture, Erode, K. Mohan told farmers about opportunities available for cocoa farmers. Faculty from Tamil Nadu Agriculture University explained about pest attack on cocoa and ways to prevent them, says the release and adds that farmers from the district participated in large numbers and benefited from the programme.
