Two drown in village tank

TIRUVANNAMALAI: Paramasivan (32) of Kalambur in Tiruvannamalai district who participated in a ‘swimming competition’ among friends in the Thamaraikulam tank in Kalambur was drowned in the tank on Tuesday night.

According to the police, Paramasivan started swimming along with Guru (25) and Ramesh (33) in the race to reach the other bank.

While Guru and Ramesh swam to the other end of the bank, they lost sight of Paramasivan.

On learning that Paramasivan had drowned, his cousin Vijayan (29) entered the tank and started searching for Paramasivan, but he too drowned.
