Action likely against TDP legislator

HYDERABAD: The Privileges Committee of the Assembly looking into the complaint of breach of privilege against the TDP MLA from Addanki, Karanam Balarama Krishnamurthy, is said to have found prima facie evidence against him for his alleged objectionable remarks against Speaker K. R. Suresh Reddy recently.

The committee headed by Gade Venkat Reddy, which met here on Wednesday is believed to have gathered enough evidence to take action against him for his outbursts against the Speaker, which drew all round condemnation. Members of the committee were said to have recommended strong action against him on the grounds that it would deter others.

The meeting also felt that the report should be submitted to the Speaker when the Assembly is in session. The report is expected to be submitted to the Speaker in the monsoon session, sources said.
