CHENNAI: MphasiS, an EDS company, has inaugurated its Enterprise Labs, an innovative information technology centre here on Wednesday. The lab will provide engineering, development and testing environments for MphasiS and EDS service offering development and delivery teams worldwide. Addressing a press conference, Jeya Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, MphasiS, said the Chennai lab, a part of EDS’s global virtual laboratory capability, would focus on IT industry priorities such as server virtualisation (running multiple operating systems simultaneously on a single server) and “Green IT,” as well as continuously improving delivery quality and speed. Mr. Jeya Kumar said the Chennai lab would be connected with the global network of regional labs in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe, West Asia and Africa. MphasiS was consolidating its offices in Chennai by adding 3,600 seats by the year-end. The Director of EDS Enterprise Labs, Tom Fabry, said Chennai and all eLab facilities were focussed on end-to-end services for non-prod ITO engineering and application development. The main aim of this lab was to reduce capex and opex of the clients company, while delivering high-quality and cost-effective capabilities for innovation, engineering and development.
