Suresh Kumar adjudged best

BANGALORE: Suresh Kumar (kabaddi) was adjudged the ‘best all round student’ at the graduation ceremony of the SAI NSSC, Bangalore for the year 2007-08.

He was presented with a trophy and a cash award of Rs. 5000 by Prof. H.A. Ranganath, Vice-chancellor, Bangalore University, the chief guest for the day.

Four women coaches, from this batch were presented Rs. 7,500 each as scholarships. About 110 students graduated in eight disciplines — athletics, hockey, kho-kho, kabaddi, tennis, softball, swimming, taekwondo and volleyball.

Athletics: Anand Kumar Sahu; hockey: C.B. Devadass; kho-kho/kabaddi: Suresh Kumar; tennis: Mehul Kenia; softball: Vishwas Gaikar; swimming: Pankaj Rathi; taekwondo: Joseph Lalsiama; volleyball: V.J. Verghese.
