IMA backs doctors’ demands

KOCHI: Indian Medical Association, State branch, has requested the State government to settle the ongoing non-cooperative strike by the government doctors by accepting their legitimate demands. A statement issued by the association president and secretary expressed anguish over the attitude of the government, especially when the Health Service and Medical Colleges are plagued by a serious deficiency of doctors.

The government should realise the practical reality and take positive steps to enhance the pay structure of the doctors., said the statement. The Kerala Health Service Dental Surgeons Association said that they will not be joining the strike.
