Former IMA president to be feted

BANGALORE: The former Indian Medical Association (IMA) president V. Parameshwara will be felicitated on his 77th birthday at a function to be held at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan .

Organising committee member K.M. Srinivasa Gowda told presspersons here on Wednesday that a panel discussion on “medical ethics at a cross roads” would be organised.

The medical practitioners, consumer court activists and the public could pose questions, which would be answered by medical professionals at the panel discussion.

Lokayukta Justice N. Santhosh Hegde would deliver the keynote address.

On Sunday, the “Commemoration volume” and “Biography of Dr. V. Parameshwara” that would act as reference books for students and medical practitioners alike; “Medicine: Ethics and Practice” and “Hrudaya Bene, Aaraike, Chikithse”; published by BVB under its Book University Series would be released.
