SHIKARIPUR (SHIMOGA DISTRICT): S. Bangarappa, former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party candidate, said here on Tuesday that his fight against the BJP candidate and former Chief Minister, B.S. Yeddyurappa, was aimed at defeating “communal” forces. Participating in a Meet-the-Press organised by the Shimoga District Working Journalists’ Association, he said it was always a thrilling experience to fight against a strong candidate “whatever may be its outcome”. He said that he was confident of scoring an impressive win against Mr. Yeddyurappa going by the atmosphere in the constituency which was in his favour. Mr. Bangarappa sought to put at rest all sorts of rumours making rounds about his health. He said, “Let there be no doubt it. I am quite healthy to face this electoral challenge.”
