THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State general secretary M.T. Ramesh has urged the Communist Party of India (CPI) to apologise to the people of the State “for acquiring land in Munnar town unlawfully to build its party office.” At a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Ramesh said that the deposition made by the former additional tahsildar of Devikulam before the Kerala High Court recently showed the illicit nature of the land acquisition. The former official had confessed to the court that he had issued the title deed for the land deviating from the procedures on being pressured by the then Revenue Minister belonging to the CPI, Mr. Ramesh said. He also urged the CPI to return the land to the government. Referring to the very high success rate in this year’s SSLC examinations, the results of which were announced on Tuesday, Mr. Ramesh said that it raised serious questions about the credibility of the examinations.
