Scooterist run over by Blueline bus
NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old shopkeeper was run over by a Blueline bus at Saraswati Vihar here on Wednesday.
The mishap took place around 11 a.m. when Rakesh Jain was on his way to his shop on a scooter. He was crossing a stationary Maruti Alto car when its occupant suddenly opened the door. Rakesh hit the door and fell on the road. Just then a speeding Blueline bus coming from behind ran over him. Rakesh was declared brought dead at Maharaja Agarsen Hospital.
Both the drivers involved in the accident are absconding, but the vehicles have been impounded. The bus was plying between Rohini and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
