Rs. 6 crore for Collectorate building

ARIYALUR: The State Government has allotted Rs. 6 crore for construction of Collectorate Master Complex for Ariyalur district.
The foundation stone would be laid for the Master Complex at Walajanagaram once the blueprint is approved, Collector R. Sudalaikannan said on Wednesday. The site for the complex was chosen months ago by Union Minister for Communications and IT A. Raja.
Mr. Sudalaikannan also informed that Rs. 34 lakh has been allotted for construction of camp offices for the Collector and Superintendent of Police. The camp office for District Revenue Officer would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh, he said.
Certificates given
At a function held to mark the completion of a month-long training programme for 38 new Village Administrative Officers appointed through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, the Collector distributed certificates to the appointees.
The new VAOs who are to be posted in Ariyalur, Udayarpalayam and Senthurai taluks received orientation on the functionalities of the Land Survey Department, the method of identifying land as per survey numbers, and maintenance of registers, in the first phase of training.
