FAIZABAD: Three robbers, who were escaping with nearly Rs. 4 lakh after snatching the money from two employees of a petrol pump, were beaten by a mob in Uttar Pradesh’s Ambedkar Nagar district resulting in the death of one of them. The robbers snatched the cash at gunpoint from the manager of the petrol pump, which belongs to BSP MLA Bhagelu Ram, in Alapur area. When Ram’s son along with a local trader came to intercept them, the robbers opened fire from point blank range seriously injuring the trader Shiv Kumar Gupta. After hearing the gunshots, some people came out, surrounded the miscreants and started to beat them up, leaving one dead and two badly injured, SP Om Prakash Sagar said. Ravindra, the deceased, and the injured Sanjay and Ram Autar belonged to Azamgarh district.
