Santhosh Madhavan taken to bank

KOCHI: Santhosh Madhavan who had been arrested on charges of cheating and numerous other criminal offences was taken to the MG Road branch of the Federal Bank here on Thursday to ascertain whether pornographic CDs of girls whom he had allegedly raped at his guest house were kept in his bank locker.

Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate K.S. Sarathchandran on Thursday dismissed the bail petitions of Santhosh Madhavan and Thomas. The court held that the bail petitions were not maintainable. The court accepted the prosecution argument that the accused were to be tried in the sessions court and therefore the magistrate had no powers to grant bail.
