Gelatine sticks explode, two killed
Staff Reporter
WARANGAL: Two persons were killed here on Thursday when some gelatine sticks, which were being illegally transported, exploded at Gudeppad village in Atmakur mandal in the district. The gelatine sticks were being transported without valid permission from the town to Parkal in a jeep when they exploded. Jeep driver Ramesh died on the spot. The pellets, which went through an autorickshaw coming behind the jeep, hit a passenger Rekha and she died instantantly. The gelatine sticks were reportedly being transported for supply to quarry owners.
The police said, “We are investigating the case and details are yet to be gathered.” The police said that they were also investigating if the gelatine sticks were being supplied to Maoists and other naxalite groups in the district. The bodies were shifted to the MGM Hospital here.
