Congress leader Henry Austin passes away

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader and former Union Minister Henry Austin passed away here on Thursday. He was 88.

Mr. Austin had come to the capital city to visit his daughter a couple of days ago. He was taken to hospital after he complained of uneasiness. The end came on the way to the hospital. The body will be brought to the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office here at 9 a.m. on Friday and kept there for the public to pay homage.

The funeral will be held at the Infant Jesus Church, near the High Court, in Ernakulam on Friday evening. Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan was among those who condoled his demise.
