This Day That Age
A proposal to develop Horsley Hill in Chittoor district, 4,000 feet above sea level, into a summer-cum-health resort at a cost of Rs. 10 lakhs has been submitted to the Andhra Pradesh Government by Mr. Mehdi Nawaz Jung, Minister for Co-operation, who inspected the area on May 7. It was a century ago that Mr. W.D. Horsley, then District Collector, constructed the Horsley’s Estate, measuring around one hundred acres. It was sold to the Government in 1884.
