moment to cherish: Former Minister Bhattam Sriramamurty with his wife at his Sahasrachandra darsanotsavam organised in the city on Thursday.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Former Minister Bhattam Sriramamurthy was felicitated along with his wife Satyavathi on the occasion of his Sahasrachandra Darsanotsavam at a glittering function here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Animal Husbandry Mandali Buddha Prasad recalled Mr. Sriramamurthy’s association with his father, late Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao with the duo strongly advocating an integrated Andhra Pradesh state.

He lauded the lofty ideals and virtues of the former Minister and called for emulating him.

Former MP Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad presided over the function and said the huge attendance rekindled hope for a great future to re-establish a value-based society.

Former Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University V. Balamohan Das, and others spoke.

Among those on the dais were MLA Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao, former MLA S.A. Rahaman, veteran freedom fighter K.S. Sastry, S. Kondalrao, former VUDA Chairman P.S.N. Raju and M.R.L. Rao.

Cultural programmes were also organised on the occasion.
