Brahmapuram trial run today

KOCHI: The trial run of the solid waste treatment plant at Brahmapuram will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. A small quantity of waste will be put through the process of treatment at the plant on Friday, said Mercy Williams, Kochi Mayor. The Mayor, chairmen of various Standing Committees of the Corporation and Health Inspectors will witness the trial run. The Corporation is waiting for the date of the Chief Minister and Local Administration Minister for the formal inauguration of the plant. Meanwhile, the civic authorities led by Ms. Williams held discussions with the representatives of various residents associations regarding the segregated collection of waste. The civic authorities will meet representatives of political parties at the Corporation council hall on Friday. The Corporation has made it clear that it will collect only segregated waste from households.
