Junior Class I status for doctors at entry level

BHUBANESWAR: In an apparent move to avoid further confrontation with doctors’ community, the Orissa Government on Thursday issued a resolution according Junior Class I status to doctors at entry level with an enhanced scale of pay of Rs. 8000-275- Rs.13500.

The State Government also decided to pay specialist allowances as well as postmortem allowances to doctors.

According to the resolution issued by health and family welfare department on Thursday, the decisions would come into effect from the date of issue of this resolution and it would be published in the next issue of Orissa Gazette. OMSA president Madhusudan Mishra said the association welcomed the resolution.
