KOCHI: With the Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association striking work on Thursday, the main General Hospital and taluk hospitals had only casualty services and emergency on-call doctors’ services. According to the district secretary of the association, V. Madhu, those who attended duties did not sign the attendance register. Three doctors went for casualty service that was maintained 24 hours in three shifts from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m; 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 8 p.m to 8 a.m. One doctor attended the ward duty to serve the in-patients. In peripheral primary health centres out-patients were attended to by doctors in the National Rural Health Mission programme, said Dr. Madhu.
