Rourkela: Twenty child labourers were rescued from Lahunipada and Bonai blocks in Sundergarh district by labour officials, official sources said on Thursday. The raids were conducted yesterday in motor workshops, hotels, roadside eating joints and small industries, the sources said. Cases were booked against 15 employers from the blocks under Child Labour Prohibition and Regulation Act, 1986. A labour official said out of 100 cases detected during 2006-07 only ten cases have been initiated against their employers after scrutiny. Another 25 cases were also booked during 2007-08 and sent for approval to the Labour Commissioner. - PTI
