CHANDIGARH: At least nine personnel of Indo-Tibetan Border Police were injured after a hand-grenade exploded “accidentally” at a firing range near the ITBP training centre at Bhanu on Thursday. The injured were rushed to the PGI here, official sources said. The incident happened when the ITBP troopers were carrying out routine exercises. One ITBP officer was killed and 11 injured seriously on May 2 when another hand-grenade had exploded “prematurely” during training. Earlier, on March 13, three Central Reserve Police Force officers had died and several injured when a hand-grenade had exploded under similar circumstances.
