PUDUCHERRY: By reducing salt content in the food, controlling body weight and avoiding fatty foods, hypertension can be prevented or controlled, according to doctors. Even as one observes the World Hypertension Day on Saturday, the emphasis is on the need for awareness of hypertension, the doctors said. “The normal blood pressure is 120/80. Anything more than 140/90 is high blood pressure, known as hypertension,” Assistant Professor in General Medicine, Arupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospital Suresh Saravana Kumar said at a press conference on Friday. “Regular exercise for four days a week can prevent hypertension,” he said.
