CHANDIGARH: Handing out a grim warning to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal that he was leading the State into an abyss from which there was no return, NRI-turned-MLA Jasbir Singh Khangura has expressed shock at the violence and “State-sponsored terrorism that was unleashed during the recent elections to the Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads”. True faceMr. Khangura, who represents Kila Raipur constituency in Ludhiana district, in an open letter to Mr. Badal said that after the world had seen the true face of the present government which resorted to brazen use of weapons, widespread death and destruction and intimidation of innocent voters, “which NRI will now dare to invest in Punjab?” ‘No delusion’“Let there be no delusion: the myth of your current popularity will be fully exposed in the forthcoming parliamentary elections when Punjabis will vote decisively against your ruling alliance,” Mr. Khangura warned. He added that Mr. Badal’s quest to acquire or usurp every private bus and cable network in the State would not be able to buy people’s hearts and minds. Instead they would exercise their choice through the electronic voting machines to deliver a crushing defeat to the politics of violence and intimidation, he added.
