Jairam Ramesh leaves for Egypt today

NEW DELHI: Union Minister of State for Power Jairam Ramesh leaves on Saturday to participate in the annual high-level World Economic Forum on the Middle East to be held at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt on May 19. He will take up the issues of bilateral interest and investment opportunities between India and the Middle East during the visit.
The international meet will be inaugurated by the U.S. President, George Bush and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and leaders from 55 other countries would be attending. Mr. Jairam has been nominated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to represent India at the meet. Mr. Jairam will have Ministerial-level discussions in Cairo for expanding the economic engagement between the two countries.
