Madikeri: Kodagu Deputy Commissioner, K.R. Niranjan, on Friday asked the election agents to obtain their identity cards from the election officers of Madikeri and Virajpet constituencies three days in advance to the counting slated for May 25.

Counting of votes for Madikeri and Virajpet segments will be held at the St. Joseph’s School here.

Mr. Niranjan who was presiding over a meeting to review arrangements in the run up to the counting

said that election observers would be present during the counting process.

As many as 14 electronic voting machines (EVMs) would be taken up for counting in each round.

Election officers should provide two EVMs on random to the election observers after every round of counting, Mr. Niranjan said.

A media centre would be opened and the District Information Officer, Vinod Chandra, would be in-charge of the centre, he said.

Information on the votes polled would be sent to the media centre after each round of counting, Mr. Niranjan added.
