KOCHI: The Kaloor zone of the Ernakulam District Residents Associations’ Apex Council (EDRAAC) will be holding a convention on Sunday at the Pavakulam Temple auditorium at 4.30 p.m. There are 51 residents associations under the zone, which includes the Corporation wards of 33, 39, 62, 68 and 69. K.V. Thomas, MLA, will inaugurate the convention. The State president of Residents Associations, Hashim Parakkadan, will make the introductory speech. Deputy Mayor, C. K. Manisankar, will deliver the keynote address. District Collector M. Beena will be the chief guest on the occasion. The convention will discuss the issue of making the zone plastic-free. The zone president R. Lohitakhshan will preside over the meeting. Assistant Police Commissioner P. M. Varghese will distribute identity cards.
