VIJAYAWADA: ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, a leading private insurance company, has plans to open more branches and ‘spokes’ in rural areas in Andhra Pradesh to fully tap the potential life insurance market in rural areas, says company senior vice-president Chaya Pisupati on Friday. Ms. Chaya, addressing a press conference along with regional manager D.M. Varma, said ICICI Prudential at present had 950 urban and 1,000 non-urban branches across the country. In the financial year 2007-08, the company had tripled its branch network and achieved retail new business whose premium value was Rs.6,684 crores. This was a growth of 68 per cent over the previous year. She said renewal premium had gone up by 101 per cent to Rs.5,526 crores from Rs.2,751 crores in 2007-08. EDUSAT programmesChildren in the age group of 10-15 years can participate in the EDUSAT programmes to be held at Regional Science Centre at Bhavanipuram from May 20. The programmes are of interactive nature. The programmes will be held between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Programme on ‘Origami’ will be held between May 20 and May 23, while ‘Fun and Electronics’ will be held between May 26 and May 29. ‘Science Toys’ programme will be held from May 30 to June 4, ‘Fun with Mathematics’ from June 5 to June 10 and ‘Understanding Solar System’ between June 11 and June 16.
