Nephew detained in murder case

NEW DELHI: The police on Friday detained a 27-year-old nephew of the retired Air India employee B. D. Sharma who was found murdered in his house at Janakpuri here on Thursday.

“We have detained Vicky on suspicion of his involvement in the murder. A team has been sent to arrest his accomplice. The two knew that the Sharmas were slated to leave for the United States soon to meet their sons and had kept a substantial amount of cash in the house,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Aggarwal.

The 70-year-old Mr. Sharma was found dead with his throat slit when his wife Raksha Sharma returned from a temple in the afternoon. Over Rs.1 lakh in cash and some valuables were found missing from the house.
