Two killed in separate accidents

TAMBARAM: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in the southern suburbs in the past two days.
In an accident that took place on the Mount Poonamallee Road on Thursday evening, Himalayam (20) sustained serious injuries when she got down from a moving Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus at Nandambakkam.
Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, she had missed the stop and jumped off the bus.
She sustained head injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital, where she died at 11 p.m.
She was married to Anjum and employed in a construction site nearby, the police said.
In another accident, Tamil Selvan (30) died when the two-wheeler he was riding on Rajiv Gandhi Salai was hit by a milk van on Friday morning.
A lecturer at a private college in Sholinganallur, he was entering the college premises when the accident took place.
