38 offenders arrested

TIRUCHI: In a drive against criminal elements, the city police arrested 38 persons here on Thursday night. The drive was conducted across the city on the instruction of Commissioner of Police Pramod Kumar. It was headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) N. Rajasekaran.

Four Assistant Commissioners, 15 Inspectors, 25 Sub Inspectors and 400 policemen were involved in the operation during which they were arrested. Of them, 36 were repeat offenders in theft cases and two in rowdy cases, a police press release said. Cases have been registered against them in the different police stations and were remanded to judicial custody.
