Italian teen for withdrawing case
Special Correspondent
PANAJI: The arrest of Raj Nadar in an alleged molestation case involving an Indo-Italian teen took a different turn on Friday when the complainant, in a letter to the police, expressed her wish to withdraw the complaint.
According to police sources, the girl said she felt sorry for Mr. Nadar. However, since she had already filed an FIR, she could not withdraw the case, the police said. “When an FIR is registered, only a court decides if the case can be taken back,” a police official in-charge of the Calangute police station said.
Conditional bail
The accused was granted conditional bail by the Judicial Magistrate First Class on Thursday.
He was asked to report at the police station for five days.
