Raghuveera Reddy asks officials to explain the financial gains

It is only a book adjustment for them, though the State is bearing the financial burden

Calls for implementation of non-pesticide crop management scheme

ANANTAPUR: Minister for Agriculture N. Raghuveera Reddy has said that most of the women of self-help groups (SHGs) are not aware of the financial benefit they are getting under ‘Pavala Vaddi’ scheme as it is only a book adjustment for them, though the government is bearing the financial burden.

Speaking at the governing body meeting of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) comprising the departments of DRDA, IKP and DWMA here on Friday night, he said it was the responsibility of the IKP officials to explain the groups about the benefit.

He directed the project director of IKP/DRDA N. Ramachandra Reddy to inform the groups separately on the financial benefit accrued by them from ‘Pavala Vaddi’ scheme every six months, when the benefit would be extended to them.

The minister also explained about the schemes being implemented under DRDA like SGSY, pensions, PURA and others in the meeting.

Housing loans

The Minister asked the IKP officials to arrange housing bridge loans to all SHG members who were in need. Further, he asked them to implement non-pesticide crop management scheme with the assistance of the Agriculture Department. On complaints that IKP officials were not attending the mandal parishad meetings, the Minister instructed the IKP project director to ensure that the functionaries concerned attended the meetings.

Legislators P. Subba Reddy, G. Thippeswamy, B. Narayana Reddy, S. Sailajanath and N. Neelavathi participated in the meeting chaired by Zilla Parishad chairperson T. Kavitha.
