For you: Former Indian hockey star Dhanraj Pillay, Kenyan distance running legend Paul Tergat and actor Rahul Bose at an event in Bangalore on Saturday. BANGALORE: Over 12,000 people will be participating in the world’s richest 10 k.m. run here on Sunday, the Sunfeast World 10K run. . The best runners have turned up either to win the prize money of 150,000 dollars or for sheer pride. Besides the Elite World 10K event for men and women, the organisers have lined up events such as the Senior Citizens run, the Wheelchair event, the Open 10K run and the “Majja run”. An event at the Windsor Sheraton on Saturday saw Dhanraj Pillay, former Indian hockey star, actor Rahul Bose and Kenyan distance running legend Paul Tergat tossing pastas in front of photographers and onlookers. Ramya, Kannada actor, cut a cake. Traffic arrangementsThe city police have planned for minimal diversion of traffic during the four-hour marathon. “We have made arrangements that will facilitate a smooth run as well as unhindered movement of traffic,” said Assistant Commissioner of Traffic (Central) K. Ishwar Prasad on Saturday. The marathon will start from Kastruba Road. It will pass through Kanteerva Stadium gate, Siddalingaiah Circle, Queen’s Statue Circle, Queen’s Road, CTO Junction, Cubbon Road, Manipal Centre Junction, Dickenson Road, Gangadhar Chetty Road, Cubbon Road and Ambedkar Veedhi before culminating at Kanteerava Stadium. It will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 11 a.m.
