Tourism board has introduced special packages

VISAKHAPATNAM: Be it the rustic charm and rich cultural heritage of the region, the cascading waterfalls of Tirathgarh and Chitrakote or the creative marvels of tribal art, a visit to the neighbouring State of Chhattisgarh is a whole new world of hidden treasures. For the holiday season, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board has introduced special tour packages from Vizag to promote the lovely unexplored terrain of the State. The three days-two nights magical weekend package includes a visit to Chitrakote and Tirathgarh waterfalls, Danteshwari Devi temple, Barsur temple, Kanger Valley, Kutumsar Caves and the local museum.

Accommodation

Accommodation facility is provided at the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board’s hotel at Asna in Jagdalpur district. The hotel has 8 AC rooms with double occupancy. Vehicle will be arranged from Visakhapatnam for a minimum of six members and the per head cost is Rs.4,200 that is inclusive of food, accommodation and transport. “We can also book the accommodation facility directly from here for tourists who wish to make their own transport arrangements for the tour,” said tourism officer of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board K. R. Jyothi.

The office premises will be shifted to Old CBI Junction, Waltair Road by the first week of June after which several other packages will be also be started. Tourists can also take the Kirandul Express from Visakhapatnam and go till Jagdalpur. The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board will provide vehicle facility from Jagdalpur to Asana.

“Right now, we have ready accommodation facilities at Asna and Raipur. Twelve more cottages are coming up shortly in Chitrakote,” General Manager of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board P. Sen Bhowmick told The Hindu.
