Labourer killed at Vedanta site

Jharsuguda: A labourer was killed and two others were critically injured when a heavy iron structure fell on them at an industrial project site near here on Saturday.

Police said on Sunday that 35-year-old Munmun Singh Yadav of Bihar was killed at the site of Vedanta’s USD 2.1 billion aluminium smelter plant project. The injured were admitted to a private nursing home, they said.

Vedanta has announced Rs 5.5 lakhs as compensation for the family of the dead and will bear the expenses for the treatment of the injured, company sources said. PTI
