Check global warming

The growing temperature in the country particularly in some states of the country is alarming and this is due to global warming and every country irrespective of its self-interests should work to solve this problem. Otherwise the humanity will have to face serious consequences in the long run.

In recent years the situation of the monsoon has drastically changed and some times there is too much of rain, too much drought and unimaginable temperature is creating unbearable and dangerous situation in the life of human being. The result is that unidentified diseases are cropping up.

To tackle this situation, the countries should sit together and find out a viable solution instead of blaming each other.

Review meetings

The Orissa Government seems to be in a state of confusion.

During last three years, the Government has perhaps taken review on progress of mega steel plants on numerous occasions.

In 2006, when investment commission headed by Ratan Tata came to Orissa and took a review of mega industries, the problem was land acquisition.

Two years down the line, again Union Steel Secretary R. S Pandey came and reviewed. The problem is again land.

In the meantime, review meetings were held in Bhubaneswar as well as New Delhi. What is the meaning of these stock-taking meetings when you cannot solve any problem?

Power of propaganda

No petty gangster can become a ’don’ without the help of the media.

Recent media hype in Orissa about an arrested gangster is its stark example. The way he is appearing in the front page of all local newspapers and headlines of local TV channels, it seems he is a public figure.

This media hype would surely help the said gangster in his future extortions. He would no more move around streets. With the publicity he has got he would just open up his ‘company’ and operate from a posh chamber. Within a few years he may make politics his profession. This is no more a story of movies. Gangsters have started to understand the power of propaganda.
