Spreading awareness through entertainment

MALAPPURAM: The Song and Drama Division of the Union Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will present cultural programmes at six centres in the district on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The programmes will be staged in collaboration with the District Information Office.

The programme, titled Vanchi, will include themes of national integration, communal amity, family welfare awareness programmes, and precautions against epidemics.

The first programme will be staged at Idimuzhikkal in Chelembra panchayat at 5 p.m. on Monday.

Panchayat president C. Hassan will inaugurate the programme. Kondotty grama panchayat president Umerul Farooque will inaugurate a show to be staged at Kondotty at 6.30 p.m.

Keezhuparamba panchayat president K.C.A. Shukur will inaugurate a show to be staged at Keezhuparamba bazaar at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

A show will be conducted at Areekode at 7.30 p.m.

On Wednesday, the show will be staged at Wandoor and Anjuchuvadi.
