Skeletons of four missing persons found in Jharkhand

Four accused confess about having buried the bodies

In an apparent bid to avenge the killing, Kui and three of her children were killed

According to police murders had taken place about four-five months back over land dispute

Jamshedpur: Skeletons of four persons, including a woman and three children, were recovered from Patahatu jungle in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, police said. The skeletons were recovered on Saturday after four persons, arrested two days back reportedly confessed about having killed the four, missing for about four months, and buried the bodies in deep jungle, police sources said. The four skeletons were identified as that of Kui, her daughter Randai, two sons Dhanuj and Bagun. Earlier Kui, her husband Soy had been arrested following a scuffle with neighbours over a land dispute.

However, Kui procured bail and returned home.

In an apparent bid to avenge the killing, Kui and three of her children were killed and their bodies buried in the forested area, police said.

After Soy came out of jail and lodged a missing complaint, two persons from Patahatu were detained for interrogation but a group gheraoed the police station against the detention soon after forcing their release.

Police detained 11 persons again two days back when they came to know that the accused were among the protestors, who gheraoed the police station.

The four accused - brothers Gangaram/Bagun Samad, Machua Samad and Parsuram Hansda - reportedly confessed during interrogation about having buried the bodies. Police then exhumed the bodies from the forest on Saturday. Police said the murders had taken place about four-five months back over land dispute.- PTI
