Prisoner takes Civil Services exam

KOCHI: A young inmate of the Kannur prison was among those who appeared for the Civil Services examination held at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kadavanthra, on Sunday. Rijo Joseph, a native of Kalady, was sentenced to life imprisonment on the charge of murder in 2000. He was escorted to Kochi by two policemen. He had completed his degree and postgraduation while in the jail. The jail authorities are said to have extended him help in continuing his studies. — Staff Reporter
