Acquaintances, relatives of Arushi’s parents questioned Superintendent of Police (Noida City) transferred
NOIDA: Even as the post-mortem reports revealed that both Arushi Talwar and her domestic help Hemraj were murdered with the same weapon, the State Government transferred Superintendent of Police (Noida City) Mahesh Kumar Mishra to the Special Task Force in Allahabad and sent the Sector 20 Station House Officer Datta Ram Nauneria to the lines for the “glaring lapses” in investigation of the crime scene. According to the post-mortem findings, Arushi and Hemraj were killed around the same time using a sharp weapon and by an “expert hand”. The police suspect that it could well be a surgical knife. The post-mortem on Hemraj revealed that he had not consumed liquor. Expressing confidence that they would be able to crack the case within a couple of days, the police on Sunday said they were investigating all possible angles. The police questioned some relatives, employees and acquaintances of Arushi’s dentist parents Rajesh Talwar and Nupur to get a clue to the brutal killings. Also questioned were an assistant, Kishan, and six nurses working for them. The couple were also questioned for verification of certain facts. From day one, the police have been questioning Hemraj’s son-in-law Jeevan Sharma suspecting the involvement of someone known to him as there was a friendly entry into the house. As Hemraj’s body was dragged several metres leaving behind a bloody trail, the police suspect the involvement of more than one person in the crime. Earlier on Sunday, the Special Task Force took over investigations into the case and visited the scene of crime to collect more evidence. The entire proceeding was recorded for further reference. As the motive behind the murders is not yet clear, the police are scanning the mobile phone records of the deceased. It is learnt that the police have also questioned one of Arushi’s friends. Fourteen-year-old Arushi was found murdered by her father when he went to her room to wake her up on Friday morning. Earlier the police suspected it to be the handiwork of the domestic help as he was missing. But the case took a bizarre turn on Saturday when Hemraj’s body was found on the terrace by a retired police officer living in the vicinity who had gone to the Talwars’ residence to pay his condolences.
