Sadbhavana award for late Major

HYDERABAD: The Commemoration Committee of the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra on Monday announced the Sadbhavana Award to Major Kumandur Prabhakar Vinay posthumously. The young Army officer lost his life on October 2, 2007 in a terrorist encounter that took place in the Baramullah district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The award will be received by his father K.R. Prabhakar. AICC in-charge of AP affairs M. Veerappa Moily will attend the Anti-Terrorism Day meeting to be held at the historic Charminar on May 21, the death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi.
