Nissan-NEC JV for lithium-ion batteries

TOKYO: Nissan’s joint venture with electronics maker NEC Corp. — Automotive Energy Supply Corp. — will invest 12 billion yen ($115 million) to start mass production of lithium-ion batteries — a technology widely viewed as key for next-generation ‘green’ cars.
