‘Probe police inaction’
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam has petitioned the Andhra Pradesh Human Rights Commission seeking a direction to the government to order an “in-depth inquiry” into the “gross negligence and inaction” of police officers in the murder of party leader Kappatralla Venkatappa Naidu in Kurnool district.
In the representation handed over to the Commission, party leaders M. V. Mysoora Reddy, D. Veerabhadra Rao and Y. B. Rajendra Babu said that it was shocking that Kurnool police, instead of taking action immediately after the gruesome murder of Naidu and nine others, desperately tried to project it as a road accident.
This was despite the fact that TV channels were giving a detailed coverage of the “meticulously planned and precisely executed murder”.
