JAIPUR: The death toll in Jaipur serial blasts has gone up to 66, with Dinesh Goyal (45) and Rambabu Agrawal (35) succumbing to their injuries in private hospitals here on Sunday. While a large number of the injured have been discharged from the government Sawai Man Singh Hospital, four people who sustained multiple shrapnel injuries are still under observation there. The police have registered nine first information reports — four at the Manak Chowk station and five at the Kowali station in the Walled City — on the complaints lodged by victims of the May 13 blasts. Investigators looking into a possible Pakistani link to the blasts are focussing on the Thar Express running between Karachi and Jodhpur. Incoming passengers were put through rigorous checking on Sunday. The Railways have decided to terminate the Thar Express at Bhagat Ki Kothi, near Jodhpur. Strict security measures have been introduced there. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has decided to establish a “special pool” under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the injured and the next of kin of the deceased. Financial assistance for providing sources of livelihood and education to children will be released from the pool. The government has appointed a committee, headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Ashok Pandey, for monitoring the relief process. The Indian Premier League contributed Rs. 6 crore and the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur and Cairn Energy, Rs.1 crore each.
