Thiruvananthapuram: The Peroorkada police have arrested two persons on the charge of possessing fake Indian currency notes. The suspects were identified as Raj Kumar of Kudapanakunnu and Surendran Nair of Cheria Konni. An official said they were arrested while trying to pass off a fake Rs.1000-denomination note as genuine currency at a meat stall. They were later produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody for a period of 14 days. The city police will transfer the case to the anti-counterfeit cell of the Crime Branch for further investigation. Bodies foundThe body of an infant was found buried on the premises of a house at Kazhakkuttom. The police have registered a case of unnatural death. Meanwhile, the body of a middle-aged man, who was yet to be identified, was found on the railway track near Nemom. Kidnapping caseThe Nedumangadu police have registered a case of kidnapping in connection with the disappearance of an 18-year-old girl. An official said a 26-year-old married man was being investigated in connection with the crime. ExplosionUnidentified persons exploded two country bombs at Gowreesapattom on Sunday night. The Medical College police have registered a case of violation of the Explosives Act.
