Power restored

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The power supply to eastern parts of the city that was affected by the snapping of the line between Hoody and HAL distribution centre was restored on Monday afternoon.

A senior official of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL) told The Hindu that one of the four main power supply lines had snapped on Saturday.

Although the officials took up work on restoring it, the 66 kV line could not be repaired on Sunday. Adding to the trouble, another part of the line snapped during repairs.

“We took up work at 10 a.m. on Monday. We could not complete the repair work on Sunday as we had to discontinue after another segment snapped. Also, the residents were not cooperative. The line was repaired by noon as promised,” he said. The official said the conductor, which was affected, had been replaced. “The power supply was affected only for a maximum of two hours.”
