Veterinary assistant suspended

HAVERI: Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer P.S. Vastrad has suspended a veterinary assistant of Gotagodi in Shiggaon taluk, S.S. Patil, for remaining absent from duty.

According to a release issued by Mr. Vastrad, it had been found that Mr. Patil, husband of the JD(S) candidate from Shiggaon, Prema Patil, was absent from duty since May 15 and was canvassing support for his wife. Based on a report submitted by the Returning Officer and Assistant Commissioner of Savanur, Mr. Patil had been suspended pending inquiry, the release said.
